FAQ's

Q: What is a good age to begin voice lessons?
A: Arden believes in the commonly held wisdom that girls should not begin to take regular private voice lessons until they have began adolescence, and boys should wait for their voices to change before taking regular voice lessons. Of course there are always exceptions based on an individual's talent and development. In those circumstances Arden will evaluate the individual before making a recommendation.

Q: How long is a typical voice lesson?
A: Most students come once a week for an hour long lesson. Depending on the goals of the individual taking lessons, some students will come more or less often. Lessons are rarely longer then an hour.

Q: What does a typical voice lesson entail?
A: In a typical lesson, Arden begins with an Alexander Technique breath and body warm up.  She then takes the student through a series of vocalises designed to warm up the voice while training the ear and  reinforcing breath support.  The last half of the lesson is spent working on repertoire of the student's choice.

Q: How much do voice lessons cost?
A: The cost of private voice lessons is $90/hour or $50/half hour.

Q: How much does Arden's vocal production services cost?
A: The cost of vocal production services is dependent on the number of songs to be recorded and the amount of  pre-production lesson time requested. Please contact Arden for specific project inquiries.
